We are producers certified by the CAECV (Organic Agriculture Committee of Valencia)
This certification is necessary in order to be able to guarantee that food produced by the organic food production system reaches the consumer in accordance with rigorous quality standards. Therefore, the Organic Agriculture Committee of Valencia (CAECV) strictly regulates the operators by inspecting their production and preparation systems, and takes samples of the products for analysis. It can thus guarantee that these products comply with the organic production regulations, offering quality food that is free from the residues of products of chemical synthesis and GMOs.
Both the production and preparation system and the control system are the same throughout Europe and are governed by Regulation (EC) 834/2007.
The European Commission publishes the list of the Supervisory Authorities and Bodies authorised to carry out the control and certification of organic products. In Valencia the CAECV is the supervisory authority that certifies agricultural products and organic food (ES-ECO-020-CV).
For consumers and distributors, the GLOBALGAP certificate is a guarantee that the food complies with the established quality and safety levels, and that they have been prepared following sustainability criteria, respecting the health and safety and wellbeing of the workers, the environment, and respecting animals.
GLOBALGAP is a regulation regarding farming that covers the whole production process of the certified product, right from the outset (such as seed check points or greenhouse plant check points) and all the subsequent husbandry activities, until the point at which the product is withdrawn from the farming stage.
FINCA LO ROS
Citrosan is a company dedicated to the cultivation of organic citrus fruits, in particular organic lemons, which was born of the joint venture of two entrepreneurs from San Miguel de Salinas (Alicante) who decided to invest in agricultural innovation and development to thus achieve a product of high quality and maximum productivity at the same time as respecting the environment and using 100% natural resources.
The Lo Ros Estate is located in the heart of the Vega Baja countryside, in the province of Alicante (Spain). It is a natural, unique spot where we grow approximately 2,500,000 kg of organic lemons in approximately 37 hectares. The whole estate is covered with a fabric that protects it against pests, damp, wind, etc.
NEW: Citrosan continues to expand in the field of organic agriculture and has just bought a new estate, “Finca Vistahermosa” located in Almoradi-Algorfa, comprised of approximately 79 Ha sown with crops of the following varieties: Navelate (15 ha), Lanelate (15 ha), Limón Fino Tradicional (31ha), Valencia Late (13 ha), Limón Verna (5 ha). The estate is currently in the first year of its conversion process to organic farming.
